Why Horses?

Horses are congruent beings—where their mood, behavior, and environment align harmoniously within their herd. They provide immediate, accurate feedback to humans, especially those dealing with anxiety, depression, PTS, disassociation, or anger. Veterans learn mindfulness skills through these interactions, regulating their responses based on the horses’ reactions. This real-time feedback helps veterans apply these skills to improve their interactions with others, fostering feelings of grounding, peace, relaxation, calmness, and hopefulness.
